As the player progresses through the game, Link also learns to play numerous melodies on his Ocarina, which allow him to control the flow of time or open passages to four temple dungeons. The game introduced several novel concepts, revolving around the perpetually repeating three-day cycle and the use of various masks that can transform Link into different beings. Upon reaching Termina, Link learns that the world is endangered as the moon will fall into the world in three days.
It follows Link, who on a personal quest ends up in Termina, a world parallel to Hyrule. The story of Majora's Mask takes place two months after the events of Ocarina of Time. It featured enhanced graphics and several gameplay changes from its predecessor, though it reused a number of elements and character models, which the game's creators called a creative decision made necessary by time constraints. Ultimately, Majoras Mask Redux plays just as Majora’s Mask was released and intended but has been dusted off and shined so that some of the more trivial and tedious elements of the game have been either completely removed, significantly altered, or tweaked to make them that much more pleasant for the modern gamer. Another major change, and one that seemed like such a no brainer, is the ability to use the ocarina underwater. At the top of the list, and easily the most important, is the feature of remapping the three masks and the ocarina to the D-pad this makes it so that the player now has the ability to slot three items of their choice rather than before, essentially, forced to keep those slots occupied by masks and/or the ocarina. Majoras Mask Redux presents an absolute avalanche of QoL changes that will make you wonder how you ever managed without them.
